Fire Light

Hydrangea Fire Light is considered the new standard for hardy hydrangeas and is one of the best sellers in the Proven Winner Series. An overall height of 4-6 feet makes it a moderate size for the landscape. The plant habit is upright, with thick, sturdy stems displaying the florets. Blooms open white but gradually age to a beautiful pomegranate pink.

Plant as a hedge, landscape groupings, mass plantings or specimen plants. Use for cut flowers in both fresh or dried arrangements. Also, makes a great container plant for large planters.

Great Fall interest.

Growth Characteristics:
Hardy grower and considered easy to grow. Beautiful upright, graceful habit with sturdy stem and large flower heads. Color emerges white but soon age to bright red/pink for summer. Great color in the landscape.

Care & Maintenance:
In our hot summer months of the southeast, afternoon shade is best for these hydrangeas. Plant in an area that has moist, well drained soil and add a bit of mulch to help keep the root systems cooler as well as retain moisture. Fertilize in early spring with a slow release balanced blend for trees and shrubs. Prune in either late fall or early spring. Cut the branches back about a third of the total length. Panicle hydrangeas will bloom on new wood.
