Callicarpa
Pearl Glam
Callicarpa (Beautyberry) Pearl Glam stands out in several ways. First, the foliage is a deep purple from spring to fall, giving Pearl Glam a visual interest compared to other varieties sporting only green foliage. Pearl Glam is a more compact plant reaching about 4-5 feet and showing off a more upright habit. The berry show in the fall is spectacular on every Beautyberry I've come across but Pearl Glam takes the berry display to a whole new level. Berries are bright, orchid-purple colored and tightly held close to the stem. The contrast of the berry and dark purple foliage is perfection.
Great as a specimen plant for mass plantings in the landscape. Large containers can use Pearl Glam as a thriller role in mixed combinations.

Growth Characteristics:
Beautyberry with dark purple foliage, white blooms and intensely bright orchid colored berries in the fall. Compact variety reaching 4-5 feet in total height. Upright habit. Deciduous.
Care & Maintenance:
Pearl Glam does not need a pollinator to set fruit. Prune in early spring to remove any dead wood. If you run into a severe die back, the plant will usually spring back from the ground in no time and still produce a show that season.
