Camellia

October Magic Inspiration

Camellias are a staple for Southern Gardens with bloom ranges from late fall and early spring spectacular color. October Magic Series falls under the sasanqua cultivar that is generally a fall bloomer.

October Magic Inspiration displays a lovely white bloom with a blushing narrow margin of magenta pink. The plant is evergreen with an upright, bushy habit and performs best in light shade. Use as an accent or specimen plant even in containers, as a hedge, mass planting or privacy planting.

When planting your Camellia, prepare a space that is about 3 times the size of the container. Amend our typical clay soils with a rich compost and blend very well to incorporate the native soil with the compost. Place the Camellia with the existing soil level of the container about 1-2" above the soil level in your garden. Mulch after planting and water well. Fertilize annually in late spring and if pruning is desired, shape your plantings in early spring before they begin to flush a new season of growth.
